Dwell Studio + HP for the Holidays from David Land on Vimeo.
HP asked Christaine Lemieux of Dwell Studio to come up with some creative ideas for holiday decorating and I was lucky enough to get to create a video to show the result. I love working on these kinds of collaborations because it’s so great to see what someone like Christiane will come up with. Definitely not your mother’s holiday table. (No offense, Mom!)

I hope when my kid is a teenager our home will be the kind of place he wants to hang out in with his friends - well, maybe just one quiet friend. But that’s exactly the kind of home Kelly McKenna has created for her two kids. I got to spend a couple of days with the McKennas earlier this year for HGTV Magazine, and when we were done, I totally understood why her kids stay close to home - a great space, lots of room for lounging and really good snacks! Thanks Kelly!

Denise Gee’s got the right idea: set up your party so your guests can help themselves, giving you more time to have fun! Denise is an author and entertaining guru and we went down to Dallas to catch her in action as she threw a fabulous porch party inspired by her grandmother’s parties in Natchez, Mississippi.

Here’s one more video I shot for West Elm with Kim Ficaro. Mix and match dinnerware is one of my favorite entertaining tricks, and Kim makes it all look so easy…

Last November we went down to South Carolina to see the Turner family in action for their Thanksgiving. Maureen is a wonderful host, but I think she may actually prefer a house full of in-laws to a photo crew! The Turners even helped us recreate their neighborhood-wide post-Thanksgiving football game. It was a blast!
