This January I traveled to Haiti with Keith Recker of Hand/Eye Magazine and the Hand/Eye Fund to document some of the artists and artisans he has been working with over the years. Keith has been traveling to haiti for years and has an amazing understanding of the craft, culture and art that come from the island. Learning about a country through it’s artists and artisans is an amazing way to get to know a place and I was so lucky to be able to have this introduction. This video focuses on Caribbean Craft, a papier mache company that creates a collection with West Elm. There are many more videos to come and I can’t wait to share them.

I was very excited when TRADhome, Traditonal Home’s online magazine, asked me to shoot Celerie Kemble and Jamie Drake for their new issue. Last year, we shot Charlotte Moss and Jonathan Adler talking about traditional design. This year, we got an insight on Celerie and Jamie’s ideas on color. It was a great choice of designers and I loved hearing about their different approaches.
Here’s one more video I shot for West Elm with Kim Ficaro. Mix and match dinnerware is one of my favorite entertaining tricks, and Kim makes it all look so easy…
Sometimes you have those jobs where you desperately need sun and the day before the shoot it’s nothing but grey skies. You wake up before dawn, look out your window and see nothing but fog. But then, miraculously, the fog vanishes and you have the most brilliant blue skies. This was one of those times.

Just in time for the coming Spring! Lindsey Calla is a former magazine editor turned fashion blogger, lifestyle expert and TV personality. Her blog, Saucy Glossie, covers her fashion travels, interviews and style on a real girl budget.

I’ve never considered myself a “food” photographer, even though I love shooting food, especially on location, so I was excited and flattered when Lara Ferroni approached me about including me in her new book, Food Photography, Pro Secrets for Styling, Lighting & Shooting. Lara is a food photographer and cookbook author who has put together an excellent and really useful book about how to make beautiful food photographs from all the angles. She used a story I had shot for Food Network to illustrate how I approach food photography - pretty cool!

I’ve always dreamed of having a place just big enough to fit the very essentials. I imagine how much simpler and better my life would be with out all of the excess. Well, it’s never really worked out that way, but I did get the chance to hang out with a couple who have done just that.
Betil, a set designer and artist and her boyfriend Lars, a sculptor, have created a modular living space out of shipping containers. They even created an amazing sun room filled with plants and beautiful objects that manages to stay warm even in the winter months. I was amazed at how beautiful, functional and spacious their home felt.

It’s about this time every year that I start to crave greenery. In this video I shot for West Elm, stylist and designer Shane Powers shows you three beautiful options for bringing nature inside. Not only is Shane a truly talented stylist, he is also an immensely talented designer - he created these three collections of vessels, and many more, exclusively for West Elm. Now if I could just get him to come to my place and recreate one of these for me…

Here’s a video I shot with the super-talented stylist Kim Ficaro for West Elm. Kim shows you how to create a beautiful layered bed - a West Elm classic.
